ORIGIN

Felda boy. Thirty years of wrong rooms that turned out to be right.

I’m Lokman.

I’ve been an international flight steward, a fitness trainer, a graphic designer, a photographer, a cafe owner, a caterer, a fanzine editor, and a UX researcher.

Not because I couldn’t commit. Because I kept following the same instinct into different rooms. The instinct to understand how people experience things — and how to make that experience better.

At 16, I was writing letters to black metal bands in Norway from a kampung in Johor. Globetrotting in my 30s. At 49, I took a junior role at a UX agency — because I knew I still had more to learn. At 50, the noise stopped. The rooms unified. BIKIN is the synthesis of those thirty years. This is where we appreciate effort, not speed.

THE ROOMS OBSERVED
16 — The Fanzine Loop

Writing physical letters to black metal bands in Norway from a kampung in Johor. Formatting layout sheets by hand. Building a micro-community across borders before the internet told the world how.

20s — The Cabin Floor

International Flight Steward. Moving across time zones and studying human behavior at 35,000 feet. Developing an unshakeable instinct for genuine, high-end hospitality—and learning exactly what irritates people.

30s — The Creative & F&B Sandbox

Graphic Designer, Photographer, Cafe Owner, and Caterer. Running physical spaces, balancing kitchen margins, and framing imagery. Realizing that designing an experience follows the same exact rules whether the medium is sensory, visual, or digital.

49 — The UX Lab

Founder of Objektif. Diving headfirst into formal UX design and consultancy. Mapping complex digital frameworks and applying rigid systems thinking to human behavior at an agency level.

50 — The Synthesis

Reviving BIKIN as a thoughtful, curated library, alongside launching PROTOKOL (atmospheric scent as architecture). Bringing three decades of seemingly disconnected data into total clarity.

I find what's broken before you know it's broken.

I am not offering this from a place of having a perfect, linear corporate career. I am offering it from a place of having lived enough, failed enough, and pivoted enough to know exactly what matters and what doesn’t.

If that resonates — we should talk.
